What is a KOBAN? 交番

A kōban (交番, kōban) is a small neighborhood police station found in Japan. Uniformed police officers work from small buildings located within the community, a form of community policing. They help lost children and also maintain Japan's low crime rate. Click the above picture to see Little Tokyo's KOBAN in Los Angeles. As of 2007, there are about 6,000 kōban all over Japan. Since the 1990s, many of them are found with signs in all-capital letter alphabets, "KOBAN"

Buck Compton Documentary Stolen!

Carl Wakamoto presents WWII hero Buck Compton a special gift. Buck joined the LAPD in 1947. Photos and other materials for a documentary about him were stolen on 4/18/2010.

Carl's kids hope D.A. Steve Cooley can recover our stolen documentary materials, computer & trade secrets.
